Alyssa Milano, Internet freedom fighter

Yesterday, the Republicans in the House defeated a Democratic amendment that would have guaranteed net neutrality. Obviously, this is disheartening news to anyone who doesn't want the telecoms to run the Internet. But I still feel good about our chances in the Senate. Why? Because we have a secret weapon:

The concept of network neutrality, which generally means that all Internet sites must be treated equally, has drawn a list of high-profile backers, from actress Alyssa Milano to Vint Cerf, one of the technical pioneers of the Internet. (ZDnet)

Hells yeah! I mean, having Vint Cerf, one of the technical pioneers of the Internet, on our side is certainly impressive. But Alyssa Milano? Yes, that Alyssa Milano. Actress Alyssa Milano. Hey, don't scoff. Can you name a single political fight Alyssa Milano has waded into that she hasn't won? Nope, me neither.

If the telcom industry was smart, they'd give up right now. They have no chance against the Teen Steam.
