Wonder Waif

Lindsey Lohan apparently wants to be Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie. I think a Wonder Woman movie is a dumb idea anyway, and even with Joss Whedon writing and directing, there's no way it'll be any good. The character works within the context of the DCU, but take her out of that and isolate her, and the concept falls flat, as evidenced by that godawful TV show. Besides, it's not like she's ever been a hugely popular character with comics readers in the first place, so I can only imagine how non-fans will react.

Regardless of how one feels, though, I think we can all agree that Lohan would be a horrible casting choice. Well, except for maybe the producers who tried to force Ashton Kutcher on Christopher Nolan for Batman Begins. They're probably already trying to take meetings with her. But I could be wrong. Maybe there's a resemblance I'm just not seeing. You be the judge:

Okay, it's probably unfair to use a photo of her from when she was sporting her blonde and bulimic look last year. But come on, even when she's at her best, do you really think "Amazon warrior" when you look at her? Just like that episode of The Brady Bunch where Greg is chosen to be Johnny Bravo because he fit the suit, they primarily need to find someone who looks the part. Everything else, including acting talent, is secondary.

It's Wonder Woman for God's sake, not Shakespeare.
